Today was foggy. Thankfully, the freeway was not backed up and traffic was at a minimum my entire commute. I wondered if everyone and their grandmother was stranded in airports everywhere. I arrived at work by 7:49a but because our computer system at work is shit, I logged in via cell phone which is highly frowned upon at 8:03a.

Work was work. I had been out of the office for 5 days. Peopling again after a hiatus put me in such a foul mood. So, I kept to myself and limited exchanges. Even after my single coffee, the side eye was my constant dark passenger. I had a brown bag lunch as usual, but I did forget my water bottle at home (also a reason for my sour disposition) forcing me to buy a bottled water from the often-unreliable vending machine on the second floor.

$2.35. Bottle of Dasani water.

I also finished my first (audio) book of the year, Rest by Alex Soojung-Kim Pang for free on my Libby app.

I contemplated visiting a local reuse center for cheap craft material but remembered they are closed on Mondays. Maybe I'll pay them a visit tomorrow. I should probably mention I don't need any more craft material but sometimes I just fancy the walk and an opportunity for my mind to drift and wander.

Instead, I decided to drive further down to the Goodwill. I wandered a bit, finding nothing promising. At one point, I was juggling multiple plastic baggies of yarn. At the end, I bought just one baggie filled with specialty yarns. The one skein labeled $48 retail price was what sold me. On my drive home, it was drizzling. Drizzle coupled with left up Christmas lights past the new year is a personal favorite visual of mine. I am writing off 18 miles as a business expense.

On the drive home, I started my second audio book of the year, Dearest by Jacquie Walters.

$5.49. Bag of specialty yarn for resale.

Business mileage= 18 miles

Once home. I rescue the too salty chicken dish the spouse screwed up with more water, six cubed potatoes, six bay leaves from my once flourishing garden, vinegar and corn starch slurry ensuring a more palate friendly brown bag for tomorrow's lunch.

I finish the night with researching site hosting services, the first two episodes of Laid on Peacock+, my nighttime skin regimen and writing this post.

More tomorrow.
