There was an earthquake this morning. It happened while I was getting ready for work. I wore my usual Friday garb. Dark denim bootcut jeans, black linen t-shirt and my loafers.

I love my loafers. They have just enough heel to be dressy but still comfortable. I have to admit, they were expensive. I procrastinated buying them and stalked the Rothy’s website constantly for sales and deals but they are worth every penny. They make my wardrobe look professional even if I’m just wearing jeans or a t-shirt. They feel better and look better compared to wearing ballet flats. I think I might follow up with another pair but the pointy toe heeled style.

Monday, this week I bought a few gifts for my niece. She and I share a love for needlework so I ordered a neck light, a jar of 500 stitch markers and a portable yarn holder so she could crochet or knit on-the-go.

$31.01

I want to use some scrap leather that I purchased from the reuse store years ago so I ordered a leather work kit complete with needles, thread and other leather-working accessories.

$25.48

I also purchased an adjustable phone holder for spouse’s birthday gift (which I returned for a refund. It didn’t extend high enough)

A comfy comforter in camel. We’ve had the same comforter for y e a r s. It was time for an upgrade.

After work we had an appointment with our tax adviser, got gas ($36.81) and drove to dinner. We ended up getting sushi for dinner, kicking off spouse’s birthday. Every roll was delicious ($63.70) There was this roll, Halloween. It is made with squash then deep fried with avocado and unagi sauce. It was absolutely divine. Afterwards we picked up some food essentials at Trader Joe’s.

I decided to pick up two boxes of the Sri Lankan cashew curry rice ($3.99 x 2). I’ve never tried it but it intrigues me. I will most likely cook those on Sunday to brown bag. The harvest apple salad mix ($3.99) we love so much. A pound of blueberries ($7.99) two pounds of mixed color mini bell peppers ($4.99) , heirloom tomatoes ($2.99), two boxes of cream cheese ($1.99 x 2) and celery hearts ($2.49)

At home, I bundle up and watch a horror movie next to Lucifer curled up next to me.

The movie, Mara on Prime was absolute shit. It ended up being background noise while I finished crocheting another knit beanie.

$134.92
