Today was a departure from yesterday. I left earlier this morning and when I saw my neighbor walk to his car with his coffee in hand, I remembered my water bottle. Little blessings.

Work was work, as usual.  I did get a lot more done today. I have been experimenting with time blocking.  I've refused entertaining walk-ins and instead encouraging appointment requests.  So far, my time efficiency seems to be paying off.

I've been using my earbuds often to block out unnecessary distractions during deep work sessions, listening to YT videos on finance and entrepreneurship.  Today, was Mel Robbins' podcast 5 Rules of Money: How to Make It, Save It, & Be Smarter About It featuring Tiffany Aliche. It's 10 months old but still relevant.

I crochet a few rows during my first 15-minute break.  I have my redeemed chicken and potato stew with multi-grain rice for lunch. I did pack a Clementine Izze but today I needed an extra dose of caffeine. The vending machine pickings were looking rather sparse, but it had regular Coke.

$2.35 for a soul-saving bottle of liquid diabetes.

The office had cake and we sang Happy Birthday after lunch. I partook in the singing but headed straight back to work without cake.

After work, I headed to the shopping center.  I mostly walked around. The holidays had cleaned out most stores and what was left was either not something I needed or wanted.  Now that I think of it, I was supposed to pick up those scent boosting laundry beads but completely forgot.

I walked into Trader Joe's. I had no plan. No list. I had a slim idea of what I wanted.  I have been craving a grilled eggplant with tomato confit, so I finally decided to pick up an eggplant, ciabatta rolls, fresh basil and heirloom tomatoes. I also picked up a quart of vanilla Greek yogurt, strawberry preserves, a box of almond cookie thins and a bag of the Lemon Basil Arugula salad mix.

Checking out, the cashier told me the seasonal salad mix was so popular that corporate decided to make it a year-round item.  Great news since this salad has quickly become a household favorite.

I also headed to Joann to pick up a Lion Brand Pound of Love in Mocha because apparently, I don't have enough yarn already.

$9.88

I head home to eat a hamburger and polishing off the rest of my Coke while watching The Breakthrough on Netflix.

I got my brown bag ready for lunch tomorrow.  I've got a cup of the yogurt with two expired packets of chocolate and granola. An enormous homemade hamburger patty, a store-bought bun, ketchup and mayo mix condiment and half of the Lemon Basil salad mix from Trader Joe's.

I expect I'll be buying another Coke tomorrow.
