Wednesday. Traffic is getting worse. Citizens are getting back in their groove.  Today I got dropped off.  So, I got some needlework done on the drive.

The workplace is starting to show its ugliness.  I don't like it. I have worked in toxic environments, and it has left me on the defensive.  I definitely keep my guard up.  I no longer overshare. I do not talk about colleagues with coworkers.  I keep my opinions to myself, and I observe.  I am starting to not like what I see.

It is sad, though. I work with very dedicated people.  They have such wonderful personalities, and they are resilient af.

Breakfast was free office coffee and a snack pack of Knotts Berry Farm shortbread cookies.

Today another colleague celebrated their birthday and they bought pizza for the office. I joined to sing and took a slice of plain cheese back to my desk to work.

Before lunch, I met with two regular clients.  One client left the office smiling.  The other crying, not because of me but because of life. It tug at my heart but I help as much I can.

At lunch, I ate half of the Lemon Basil Arugula salad mix from Trader Joe's I love so much. Then, needlework. I resisted the urge for afternoon caffeine.

After work, I get picked up. I'm talking on the phone with my best friend about a surprise party she's planning.  I offer to help. I am looking forward to spending time with friends from lifetimes ago. I'm excited.

We do not stop anywhere and go straight home. My elderly neighbor calls me to her door and she gives me a bag of fried lemon-pepper chicken wings, a ready-made sandwich and a dozen white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. She tells me our other neighbor passed away on Monday.  I am shocked.  They were only just diagnosed with cancer two weeks ago. I still cannot get them off my mind as I write this post.

I have to remember to pick up sympathy cards in advance before the viewing next Wednesday.

I buy nothing online. I forgot to mention my Gap order arrived yesterday afternoon.  I bought these the week between Christmas and New Years. I ordered 3 items for a total of $56 and change.  They are all neutrals.

I used to dress so colorfully that I spent way too much trying to get my wardrobe to match every which way. Nowadays, I limit my color palette allowing me to mix and match without overextending my budget. I find this the most financially sound way to dress.

We end up polishing off the bag of chicken. The chicken was well-seasoned. I have the sandwich for lunch tomorrow. I try a cookie.  It's fine. Store bought cookies always look and taste undercooked. I sip a mug of the Cinnamon Horchata stress and sleep tea I'm loving while writing this post.

I have an eBay order to package tonight.  I have another eBay order and a Poshmark order to package and mail tomorrow night.

$0 woohoo.
