June 20, 2025
I called out of work today. Originally, I thought I’d have the strength to come back to work after the Juneteenth holiday but it was cold and windy out.
I woke back up at 8:30a and got ready. I’d already washed my hair the night before but I needed some extra humph in my hair so I used my air brush. I absolutely love that thing. I just wished it had a cold setting.
First up, gas. A full tank costs me $42.19.
Anyway, I hit up TJ Maxx with the Nordstrom Rack right next door to return the red Camper sandals I love so much but don’t fit.
NR was still closed so I shopped in TJ Maxx for half an hour. I picked up some facial lotion made in Japan for $7.99, a huge bottle of eucalyptus scented Castile soap on clearance for $5.50, a pair Calvin Klein wide leg light weight denim pants for $24.99 and a leopard print face washing set with thick head band and arm bands on clearance for $6.
Total = $48.87
At 10a, I made my way to NR. I went upstairs to the shoes department and shopped for an hour and a half! After trying on about 3 dozen pairs of toe ring style sandals, I settled on a white faux croc material toe ring sandal from Franco Sarto. $44.95
Also returned the Camper sandals and purchased the white faux croc toe ring sandals -$65.93
Off to Ross. I was still in the market for a pair of red sandals. Ideally, I would have bought a pair of red toe ring sandals with low block heels if they existed but I have been online shopping for over two weeks. I settled on the Camper sandals because they were red minus the toe ring style but they ended up not fitting. Oh well.
Ross ended up giving but in the home goods department. I bought a replacement shower curtain liner $4.99 since mine is gross and green with mold.
A foldable drying rack, something I’ve been meaning to replace since I left mine in Vegas three years ago. $15.99. So I can wash and properly dry my sweaters by laying them flat.
I purchased some new bowls. The ones we had are too big and since I really don’t eat that much, I refuse to use them once I’m on my own. Plus these bowls are nude color and in a set of four. $9.99
I ended up buying new weeding gloves $2.99, a pair of wide leg nude colored palazzo pants $14.99, a bag of chai flavored hard candies $2.99 and 2 boxes of thin almond cookies $2.99 each.
Totaling $62.52
I decided to visit the next Marshall’s where I spent most of my time (and money)
I found a pair of red toe ring sandals on clearance for $24 and a pair of Munro cage sandals that I contemplated putting back but I could not at $29.99. Munro is an expensive brand not to mention genuine leather with low block heels. It was the only pair left but in a 9 which funnily fits me perfectly.
I bought a jar of unflavored (very important and very rare) protein powder $34.99, weightlifting gloves $12.99, a set of stackable measuring spoons $3.99, an herb saver $4.99, two bottles of nail polish $4.99 each. I am pretty excited about these nail polishes. I bought a dark Merlot red and a bright cherry red. A pack of 20 chai masala tea bags $8.99, a nice heavy bronze colored garlic press $7.99, a set of 2 silicone egg bite molds $3.99. I’ve been wanting to make egg bites at home with some spinach, mushrooms, cheese and eggs for quick high protein breakfasts. Finally two large bottles of coconut water $3.99 which for the size 38 ounces is really cheap. Far cheaper than at the Asian food market which is surprising.
Totaling $162.34
Finally, my last stop is Target. I am returning a maxi dress I ordered online but realized I like the black version more (which I also bought online at the same time)
-$23.10
Lastly, I ordered Starbucks. I bought an Americano for him and an Iced Horchata Espresso Oatmilk for me. So good. I do not buy coffee often so when I do I have to buy the latest. This one did not disappoint.
$10.10
Back at home, I tossed empties in recycling. My small Nioxin shampoo and baby oil are out. I have plenty more stock so no need to buy replacements.
All in all $236.99 but considering the returns, $147.96 today.
